A well-established and rapidly growing manufacturing business, part of a larger international group, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Engineering Manager to join its site in Newton Aycliffe. The company is a major player in the plastics extrusion industry, supplying high-quality custom sheet materials to a range of sectors including automotive, construction, agriculture, and leisure. Key Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and develop the engineering team, fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement.

*

Plan and oversee daily maintenance operations and preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability.

*

Manage engineering budgets and contribute to strategic planning across departments.

*

Support and deliver capital and improvement projects on site.

*

Collaborate with other teams to ensure production uptime and operational efficiency.

*

Identify and resolve breakdowns and long-term maintenance challenges.

*

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and engineering standards.

Skills & Experience Required:

*

HNC / HND / ONC in Engineering or equivalent (Time Served).

*

Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role within a manufacturing environment.

*

Strong electrical skills (16th/17th/18th Edition qualified).

*

Experience mentoring or coaching engineering teams.

* Proactive approach to engineering and maintenance.
