Educare Recruitment are proudly supporting a well-respected Special Educational Needs school in Merthyr Tydfil, providing dedicated Teaching Assistants for flexible day-to-day, short-term and long-term bookings.

We are currently seeking a Male SEND Teaching Assistant to support a specific student who requires male staff for personal care and safeguarding reasons. This is a genuine occupational requirement.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting students with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, develop confidence and feel supported throughout the school day.

Your duties will include:

1:1 or small-group support

*

Assisting with communication, behaviour, sensory needs and emotional regulation

*

Supporting personal care routines (where required)

*

Working closely with teaching staff and therapists

*

Creating a safe, positive and engaging learning environment

About You

We're looking for someone experienced, patient and enthusiastic about supporting young people with additional needs.

You must have:

Experience working with SEND learners

*

A valid Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)

*

A calm, resilient and caring approach

*

Availability for at least one of the following: day-to-day, short-term, or long-term assignments
