We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join a very popular primary school in Morecambe. This role involves working 1-2-1 with a Year 3 pupil who has special educational needs. The pupil does not display challenging behaviour and needs someone to build a relationship over time, who can support their social, emotional and educational development. The ideal candidate will be compassionate and skilled in building strong, supportive lasting relationships.
Day-to-day of the role: - Support a Year 3 pupil with selective mutism, focusing on their specific needs and educational goals.
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to implement strategies that aid communication and learning.
- Assist in the development and delivery of an engaging curriculum that accommodates the needs of all learners.
- Monitor the pupil's progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
- Create a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages pupil participation and learning.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role.
- Strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
- Knowledge of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum is preferable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient and resilient approach to working with children with special educational needs.
