This role will work as part of the engineering team to optimise energy consumption across site and drive P&L savings across the Overton site. You will manage energy cost saving initiatives from conceptualisation to delivery, overseeing the installation and commissioning of plant and equipment, working with internal and external stakeholders to achieve this.
The Energy Engineer is responsible for generating energy saving initiatives based on proven techniques and best available technology. Experience in project management is key as the successful candidate will be required to project manage small energy savings projects (up to approx £100K).The Energy Engineer will support projects engineers with complex energy savings projects, acting as a point of contact for energy analysis/assistance.
The role holder will have responsibility for overseeing energy compliance projects (BREF) through data analysis and report writing.
The Energy Engineer will liaise with the Environmental Manager around energy compliance, and in their absence oversee, CCA/EU ETS & chpQA. The role holder will actively oversee the energy metering system on site, with support from the environmental managerQualifications and Experience
·Degree qualified or equivalent in a core Engineering discipline (Mechanical / Electrical)
·A good working knowledge of a second Engineering discipline (Mechanical / Electrical)
·Proven experience in identifying and implementing energy projects
·Proven experience in forecasting, data collection and analysis
·Ability to solve complex problems with innovative solutions where no precedent is available using structured problem solving techniques
·Experience within a process environment
·Good understanding of the quality, cost, delivery and commercial requirements of customer and business
·Understanding lean methodologies that can be utilised to drive energy savings
·Sound knowledge of current Health, Safety, Environmental and Engineering regulations.
·Excellent interpersonal skills, actively engages with, supports and works collaboratively with the team and displays a flexible and positive approach to work.
·Ability to influence and convince others of new initiatives
·Excellent PC skills including Microsoft office
·Ability to be self managing and set own priorities
·An energy accredited qualification is desirable.
