We are seeking a skilled and motivated Level 3 NVQ-qualified Plumber to join our maintenance team at a prestigious government facility in Westminster. This is a rare opportunity to work on a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Grade I listed buildings, helping to preserve and maintain a nationally significant estate.

The Role

You’ll be part of a team of four plumbers responsible for both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks across a large and complex estate, including two main buildings and 15 outer buildings. The work is varied and rewarding, from fitting taps and clearing blockages to repairing heat emitters and producing items in our well-equipped workshops.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out reactive plumbing tasks (e.g. unblocking toilets/sinks, isolating supplies)
  • Perform multi-skilled mechanical maintenance (e.g. repairing heat emitters)
  • Complete PPM tasks and semi-skilled duties (e.g. re-lamping, light painting)
  • Assist with workshop-based fabrication and repairs
  • Support flag flying duties in line with official protocols
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Use mobile IT systems to manage and update tasks
  • Attend relevant meetings and complete associated admin
What We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent)

Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience in both reactive and planned plumbing services
  • Comfortable working in a complex, occupied estate
  • Familiarity with lead, copper, and plastic piping
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Competent with IT systems including MS Office and mobile work apps
  • Understanding of building management systems and H&S legislation
