Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Section Manager Introduction

Working with one of the world's most respected and innovative brands, are you a qualified accountant with strong FP&A experience and a passion for driving commercial performance? This is an exciting opportunity to join a global organisation as an FP&A Section Manager, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping financial insight, driving profitability, and ensuring accuracy across budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.

This role will see you managing reporting and analysis for a major European business division, providing financial expertise, insight, and decision support to senior stakeholders. You’ll also lead and develop a small team, acting as a key link between Finance, Operations, and Business Planning.

The Role

As FP&A Section Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering accurate monthly results, forecasts, and insightful performance analysis.

  • Supporting budgeting processes, including scenario modelling, variance analysis, and balance sheet forecasting.

  • Partnering with senior business stakeholders to highlight risks, opportunities, and profit improvement initiatives.

  • Leading the production and review of management reporting packs and performance KPIs.

  • Providing financial expertise for business projects, investment decisions, and operational planning.

  • Managing, developing, and motivating one direct report.

  • Supporting the development of systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency, automation, and forecasting accuracy.

  • Working closely with wider European finance teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of consolidated reporting.

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).

  • Proven experience in financial planning & analysis, management reporting, and budgeting.

  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills (SAP/ERP and BI tools highly desirable).

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financials to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

  • A proven record of process improvement in FP&A or management reporting.

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

  • Previous experience managing or mentoring team members.

  • A forward-thinking mindset, curious about how technology (e.g. BI, automation, AI) can improve FP&A activities.

  • Some experience working in a multinational or European-wide business context would be advantageous.

The Offer

In return, you’ll enjoy:

  • A competitive salary and benefits package.

  • Flexible working options, including some home working.

  • Exposure to senior stakeholders across Europe.

  • The opportunity to influence strategic financial decisions and drive continuous improvement.

  • A supportive and collaborative environment with scope for career development.
