Reeson Education is recruiting a committed and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in the M7 area. This Teaching Assistant role is full-time and long-term, starting in September, supporting Key Stage 1 pupils across Year 1 and Year 2.
The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can work with small groups of children who are currently working below age-related expectations, helping to close learning gaps and build confidence in core areas. As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be delivering targeted interventions and working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support learning.

Teaching Assistant - What You'll Be Doing:
- Supporting pupils in Year 1 and Year 2 as a Teaching Assistant
- Delivering group interventions focused on literacy, numeracy, and phonics
- Identifying areas of weakness and helping pupils close learning gaps
- Working with mixed-ability groups and adapting support as a Teaching Assistant
- Assisting children with mild additional needs and lower academic ability
- Encouraging engagement, confidence, and positive attitudes to learning
- Supporting class routines, transitions, and behaviour as a Teaching Assistant
- Liaising with teaching staff and SENCO to report on progress and next steps
- Building strong relationships as a consistent and reliable Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant - What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school
- Understanding of KS1 curriculum and early learning milestones
- Ability to deliver phonics and literacy/numeracy support
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to adapt to different needs
- Full-time availability from September
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
