Mechanical Fitter

Wakefield | £17.00-£19.00 per hour (DOE) | Permanent | Days

A precision engineering business in Wakefield is looking for experienced Mechanical Fitters to join their team on a permanent basis. You'll be assembling and installing special purpose machinery to exacting quality and safety standards, with occasional site-based installation work at customer locations.

What you'll be doing:

Assembling and fitting machinery from detailed engineering drawings

Installing machinery at customer sites when required

Operating hand tools, lifting equipment, and workshop machinery

Conducting risk assessments and following HSE procedures

Collaborating with client technical teams during installation

Contributing to process improvements and innovation

What you need:

HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering

Proven mechanical assembly experience, ideally with some electrical or pneumatic knowledge

Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings

Good understanding of machine safety

Strong communication skills and comfortable in customer-facing situations

Flexibility to travel when required

£17.00-£19.00 per hour depending on experience

Days: 08:00-16:30 Mon-Thu / 08:00-15:15 Fri
