We are seeking to appoint dedicated Lecturers to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills English within our cross-College provision. This role is crucial in supporting both vocational learners aged 16-18 and a growing number of part-time adult learners, helping them progress to higher education or into the workplace. Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in GCSE and Functional Skills English to a diverse group of learners.
- Tailor teaching methods to suit the needs of individual students, particularly vocational learners and adult resit candidates.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share teaching resources and strategies, enhancing the overall learning experience.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and additional support where necessary.
- Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure content relevance and engagement.
- Contribute to the academic and career success of students by fostering a supportive and motivational learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A degree in English or a closely related subject.
- Experience in teaching or tutoring English at GCSE and/or Functional Skills level.
- Proven ability to engage and inspire students aged 16-18 from various vocational backgrounds.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and sharing best practices.
