English Lecturer

We are seeking to appoint dedicated Lecturers to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills English within our cross-College provision. This role is crucial in supporting both vocational learners aged 16-18 and a growing number of part-time adult learners, helping them progress to higher education or into the workplace. Day-to-day of the role:

• Deliver engaging and effective lessons in GCSE and Functional Skills English to a diverse group of learners.
• Tailor teaching methods to suit the needs of individual students, particularly vocational learners and adult resit candidates.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share teaching resources and strategies, enhancing the overall learning experience.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and additional support where necessary.
• Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure content relevance and engagement.
• Contribute to the academic and career success of students by fostering a supportive and motivational learning environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A degree in English or a closely related subject.
• Experience in teaching or tutoring English at GCSE and/or Functional Skills level.
• Proven ability to engage and inspire students aged 16-18 from various vocational backgrounds.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and sharing best practices.
