Location: Hornchurch, RM12
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 3:00pm
Salary: £13.90 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for a committed and experienced Nursery Chef to join a lovely nursery and take charge of preparing healthy, balanced meals for young children. Working in a warm and welcoming nursery environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for the daily planning, preparation, and serving of meals, ensuring all dietary needs are met and food hygiene standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and prepare daily meals and snacks in accordance with nutritional guidelines and individual dietary requirements

*

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times

*

Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations, including proper food storage and temperature checks

*

Order and manage food supplies within budget

*

Keep accurate records of food temperatures, deliveries, and kitchen maintenance

*

Work collaboratively with nursery staff to coordinate meal times and accommodate children's needs

Requirements

*

Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in an early years or school setting

*

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above) - essential

*

Knowledge of food allergies and dietary needs

*

Ability to work independently and manage kitchen operations confidently

*

A warm, friendly attitude and genuine interest in working in a childcare environment
