Quality Engineering Manager

A Quality Engineering Manager with a demonstrated ability for organisational improvement, a passion for achieving excellent customer satisfaction and high achievement a demonstrated ability for Quality improvement and a passion for achieving excellent customer satisfaction and high achievement is required to work on a six month contract, with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Portsmouth

Overview of the Quality Engineering Manager contract role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the line of business Quality Management System (QMS) remains compliant to all internal and external business requirements and for the provision of an effective Quality Service that supports the line of Business on all Quality Matters including Quality Interventions and training in Quality Tools, techniques and processes.

Key skills required for the Quality Engineering Manager

* The ability to recognise, understand and extract requirements from technical and requirements documents.

* Can foster effective Quality outcomes through active collaboration and engagement with Quality stakeholders in Functional areas of the “Line of Business”.

* Can formulate SMART Team Objectives from the understanding and interpretation of Business and Functional Quality Objectives.

* Budget Management - Control and reporting

* Analytical and problem solving skills to identify solutions previously identified

* Strong Numeracy and analysis skills

* Risk Management - Can demonstrate the steps of Risk Management and identify the risk management tools to fit the scenario. To be demonstrated in common and straight forward processes

* Customer Focus - In the pursuit of Customer satisfaction - Understanding customer requirements, solves problems and deals with customer complaints, strives for continuous improvement through the monitoring of Key performance indicators.

* Can manage and resolve conflict in the workplace - The conflict may occur between colleagues, supervisors and sub-ordinates, the Quality organisation and its customers, suppliers etc.

* Team building - Understanding theoretical roles and how they shape strong balanced teams.

* Can identify the best approach when considering personal and technical development solutions

* Facilitation skills to lead workshops, steering groups at all levels throughout the business.

* Strong communication skills in both written and verbal mediums with the ability to select the most appropriate method of delivery and shape the message for the appropriate audience.

* Strong interpersonal skill with an ability to build and maintain networks.

* The ability to work as part of a team

* Ability to demonstrate emotional and cognitive empathy when managing the team and dealing with customers and Suppliers.

* Networking / Collaboration - Fostering cross functional relationships through communication, decision making and accountability

* Resource Management when considering both strategic and tactical requirements of the business and the function

* Change Management - through excellent organisation, leadership, networking, communication, empathy and adaptability.

* Can appropriately and effectively delegate activity to others.

Qualification

MSc, BSc in a Quality, Engineering or Business related subject (or Equivalent and relevant Experience)

* Demonstrated ability for organisational improvement and a passion for achieving excellent customer satisfaction and high achievement.

* Demonstrated ability for Quality improvement and a passion for achieving excellent customer satisfaction and high achievement.

* Demonstrated ability to effectively work, collaborate and manage stakeholders at senior levels.

* Exposure to collaboration with senior stakeholders, internally and externally to the business

The role is based in Portsmouth, Hampshire - commutable from Southampton, Cowes, Isle of Wight, Salisbury, Winchester, Andover, Basingstoke, Guildford, Aldershot, Crawley, Horsham, Brighton, Worthing, Chichester
