Graduate Remediation Engineer

The Role

We are looking for an ambitious Graduate Remediation Engineer to join a well-established environmental consultancy in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to kick-start their career in land remediation and contaminated land management, working on a wide range of brownfield and infrastructure projects across the UK.

You will gain hands-on experience supporting the design and delivery of remediation strategies, working alongside experienced engineers and environmental specialists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and implementation of remediation strategies for contaminated land
  • Support site investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling
  • Interpret environmental data and contribute to risk assessments
  • Help prepare remediation method statements and validation reports
  • Monitor remediation works on-site, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations
  • Liaise with contractors, clients, and regulatory bodies
  • Maintain accurate site records and technical documentation
  • Support project delivery to ensure work is completed on time and within budget

Requirements

  • Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • Strong interest in contaminated land and remediation
  • Good understanding of environmental legislation and risk assessment principles
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Willingness to travel to sites across Kent and the South East
  • Full UK driving licence (or working towards it)

Desirable

  • Previous internship or placement in geoenvironmental or remediation projects
  • Knowledge of Phase I/II site investigations
  • Familiarity with soil and groundwater sampling techniques
  • Working towards or interest in chartered status (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, or Geological Society)
