Support Worker – SEN School in Bradford
I am currently working with a welcoming school in Bradford who are seeking a Support Worker to join their team and support pupils with additional needs.
About the role as a Support Worker:
You will be supporting pupils with a range of needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) – both verbal and non-verbal children
- Learning difficulties
- Complex needs
The school is looking for someone with an understanding of autism and enthusiasm for supporting pupils with special educational needs. Experience in working with children with ASC, learning difficulties, or profound and multiple learning needs would be highly beneficial.
Your role as a Support Worker will involve:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with autism in a classroom setting
- Using proactive and creative approaches to engage children in their learning
- Supporting emotional regulation and social development
- Working closely with teachers and the SEND team to help children achieve their full potential
Experience in supporting children through creative approaches, such as play-based learning, workshops, or Theatre in Education, would be a bonus. Above all, you should be compassionate, proactive, and committed to making a positive difference to children’s school experience.
