Our client is a leading engineering and manufacturing specialist, suppling high- precision components to major medical and aerospace companies. They are accredited to ISO 13485 AS9100. With continued investment in modern machinery and automation, they are expanding their machining capabilities and are seeking an experienced CNC 5- Axis programmer to join their high- performance team.

The role

This is a hands-on CNC programming position focusing on producing complex, tight tolerance components using Matsuura/ Fanuc controls 5- Axis Milling machines. You will take full ownership and responsibility for programming, setting and optimising machining operations whilst ensuring exceptional quality standards.

Responsibilities


• Create, edit and optimise CNC programmes for 5-Axis, 4-Axis and 3-Axis machines


• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.


• Set, operate, and prove out new programmes prior to production.


• Select appropriate tooling, work holding, and machining strategies.


• Work to tight tolerances required in the medical and aerospace sectors.


• Conduct first-off inspections and collaborate with quality teams to verify compliance.


• Improve cycle times and machinery efficiency through continuous optimisation.


• Maintain machine performance and support routine maintenance.

Skills and Experience


• Proven experience as a CNC 5, 4 and 3 Axis Programmer


• Strong proficiency with Fanuc controls (Fanuc 5-Axis experience is essential)


• Background in medical, aerospace or other precision – engineering sectors


• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.


• Strong understanding of tooling, fixturing, feeds/speeds, and machining best practises
