Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Packaging Industry
Location: Abercarn, Wales
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
Shifts: Weekly Rotation -

Days: 05:30 - 13:30 (Monday to Friday)

Afternoons: 13:30 - 21:30 (Monday to Friday)

Nights: 21:30 - 05:30 (Monday to Thursday only)

Are you an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to take on a new challenge within a fast-paced packaging environment?

Our client in Abercarn is seeking a skilled engineer to support their busy production operation. Working with cardboard-based packaging machinery, you'll be responsible for keeping production lines running smoothly through proactive maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities:

Respond quickly to production breakdowns to minimise downtime

Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all equipment

Ensure health & safety procedures are followed and maintained

Work with boilers and steam systems as part of daily operations

Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical and electrical systems

Support continuous improvement and safe working practices on site

What We're Looking For:

Strong multi-skilled background with both electrical and mechanical experience

Experience working in packaging or similar fast-paced manufacturing environments (ideally with cardboard)

Familiarity with steam boilers and boiler systems

Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)

A proactive, safety-conscious mindset and the ability to work well under pressure
