We're supporting a well‑respected, growing business in Basildon who are looking for a confident, proactive professional to join their logistics team. This 12‑month contract comes with a genuine opportunity to go permanent, making it an excellent long‑term prospect.

About the Role

This is a hands‑on, varied position where you'll be central to the flow of products, information, and communication across the business. You'll work closely with commercial, procurement and production teams while liaising with customers and logistics partners across the UK and internationally.

You will be responsible for:

* Coordinating daily logistics schedules for all goods in and out

* Ensuring timely, compliant deliveries in line with ADR/IMDG/IATA standards

* Maintaining accurate and compliant shipping and transport documentation

* Monitoring and managing the performance of third‑party logistics providers

* Sharing up‑to‑date transport and freight rates with commercial colleagues

* Supporting customs and transport administration

* Assisting with both routine and ad‑hoc tasks to support smooth site operations

What You Bring

* Strong communication skills with UK and international customers

* Experience dealing directly with customers or suppliers

* Confident with Microsoft Office 365; CRM/ERP exposure is a bonus

* Strong organisational, prioritisation and planning skills

* Ability to stay calm under pressure and solve problems proactively

* Knowledge of import/export or customs is beneficial but not essential

Performance Expectations

* Respond to customer enquiries within 1 hour

* Action orders and issue confirmations within 2 hours

* Maintain availability of key stock items

* Follow up on all quotes for customer feedback

* Raise and close non‑conformances within target timescales

* Use systems such as ERP, CRM, CDS and Descartes effectively

* Work in full compliance with internal processes and procedures
