The College is seeking an exceptional individual to join its executive team as Director of Finance and Operations. This is a high-profile leadership role requiring outstanding qualifications, experience and a forward-thinking approach.

As a key member of the executive team, the Director of Finance and Operations will provide active, innovative, and effective leadership across a broad and strategic portfolio. This includes financial management, governance, project management, staff development and performance, as well as oversight of commercial operations.

The successful candidate will bring a values-driven and principled approach, coupled with the vision and energy to support the success of the College. They will lead on all financial and commercial operations, ensuring robust governance, and will be accountable for the full range of accounting and financial services, facilities, grounds, and commercial administration.

This is a critical role at the head of a busy finance team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside strong financial acumen. A clear commitment to the ethos and values of the College is essential, and the post-holder will be expected to embody and promote these in all aspects of their work.

We are seeking a Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant experience in an accountancy role and a proven track record of delivering meaningful change through the implementation of new systems and procedures. Experience within the education sector is highly desirable.

In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for managing the College’s finances with confidence, preparing accurate forecasts and delivering comprehensive budgets that support long-term strategic goals to ensure best practice across all areas of financial management.

With strong analytical skills, you will be able to interpret and clearly present complex statistical and financial data to a range of stakeholders.

You will lead by example, acting as an ambassador for the College and demonstrating its values and ethos through your decisions, actions, and behaviours. Your excellent people management skills will enable you to inspire and guide all operational teams. The role requires a high degree of IT literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office packages and database technologies, along with proficiency in accounting software. The ability to drive improvements, ensure procedural compliance, and embed efficient systems will be crucial to your success.
