Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Business Analyst for a 6 Month contract based remotely in the UK.

As a Business Analyst you will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to plans, estimates delivery outputs including as-is analysis, process diagrams-, high- and low-level requirements, and non-functional requirements
  • Facilitating process walkthroughs with appropriate stakeholders to clearly define service transition and end state
  • Reviewing information and trends to ensure that the output of processes is achieving the desired results and that services are meeting agreed-upon service levels
  • Creating or update process documentation/workflows, knowledge articles and self-service guidance for IT Services
  • Delivering explicit, quantifiable, and testable user stories (requirements) through elicitation and validation with key stakeholders, tracing through to design and test documentation
  • Identifying issues and risks
  • Identifying inconsistencies and problems and highlighting these to the project team
  • Participating in problem resolution
  • Extracting reports and provide a high-level analysis of data for review
  • Maintaining a complete understanding of and adheres to all IT policies and processes
  • Understanding and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes
  • Providing post-implementation support to ensure that a business solution is fit-for-purpose and successfully embedded

What we require from the candidate:

  • A self-starter who is flexible&keen to learn/put in place new ways of working.
  • Demonstratable skills and experience of leading cross functional teams to a set of business outcomes.
  • Lean, process and/or systems thinking experience is desirable.
  • Be able to document current state journeys (modelling)
  • Experience of creating business cases and compelling cases for change.
  • Experienced at understanding, analysing and interpreting complex data.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills and ability to manage and own multiple competing priorities and deliverables.
  • An excellent communicator with experience in relationship management and strong stakeholder management skills.

Key Skills;

  • Planning: Match up supply and demand of resources; manage resources; monitor progress&provide status updates; govern changes and provide quality assurance and audit of deliverables; manage risks&issues
  • Collaboration: To collaborate with relevant stakeholders (e.g. Development teams, Product Owners etc.) to ensure understanding of context and recommendations
  • Negotiation: To negotiate with stakeholders to ensure a mutually beneficial outcome
  • Challenging and influencing: To provide constructive challenge and innovative thinking to the status quo. Influencing others to understand point of view and listening to theirs to reach an optimal outcome
  • Stakeholder Management: To present progress and succinct deliverables effectively to senior stakeholders, whilst building effective relationships
  • Storytelling: To consolidate findings from analysis to present a clear and concise story, highlighting potential areas of opportunity
  • Analysis: To understand pain points and obstacles, and collate insights from a number of different sources across the business (including member insights and volumetric) to understand current b) member journeys
  • Opportunity identification; To define, shape and size {strategic} opportunities and quick wins in service of a business problem statement or goal
  • Cost and benefit modelling: Use cost structures and benefits, and model across scenarios with available data, reasonable assumptions and estimates in order to support opportunity justification
  • Benefit tracking and realisation: Establish measurements and analyse the data from live solutions and compare these to the expected outcomes from the business solution, and propose remedial actions as required
  • Process mapping / process modelling

This client will only accept workers operating via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.
