Finance Manager Northampton Salary £45-50k FTE DOE Monday - Friday - Full & Part time hours considered ( 24hours minimum )An established, privately-owned business with a strong international presence is seeking a Finance Manager to join its leadership team. This is a hands-on position requiring strong technical expertise, commercial awareness, and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and operational teams.Key Duties: 

• Manage daily finance operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and the general ledger.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
• Lead on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Oversee cash flow management to ensure working capital efficiency.
• Monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, tax obligations, and internal policies.
• Oversee statutory accounts and liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
• Line-manage and mentor a Finance Assistant, supporting professional development.
• Develop and enhance financial systems and controls for scalability.
• Oversee payroll, VAT returns, and corporation tax submissions.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decisions.
• Work closely with the Managing Director and senior team on wider business matters.

Skills & Experience:Essential

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• At least 3 years’ experience in a Finance Manager or similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or ERP).
• Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Financial Modelling).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Commercial acumen and a hands-on approach.

Desirable

• Experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Familiarity with financial planning and reporting software.
