Residential Support Worker (Children), Nr Wellington, Somerset£26,500 – £28,000 for 10 x 25-hour shifts (including sleep in) per monthContract Type – Full TimeThe client is a residential care setting for children.Working in one of the children’s residential homes you will be part of a team supporting children to affect positive change in their lives. The children they care for live in their homes, and the staff provide them with a nurturing and safe environment.At times, there can be challenges, you need to be patient, kind, understanding and resilient to be able to support the children, and to act as an appropriate role model for them, to build positive relationships to enable them to address their difficulties, and affect positive change, and achieve their optimum potential.You will need to be professional, working within a highly regulated environment. As well as caring for the children, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the home including housekeeping tasks, cooking, cleaning, and providing transportation for children, whilst always keeping the needs and feelings of the children at the forefront of everything they do.We welcome applicants with previous experience of working with children, but this is not essential as full training will be given. You will have access to a company car at work, so a full driving licence is essential.A current level 3 Child Workforce qualification is advantageous (or you may qualify within 2 years of starting in post, fully funded by the client).They are committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
