PRINCIPAL CIVIL ENGINEER

New year, new job. Are you a Principal Civil Engineer ready to take technical leadership of development projects and play a key role in shaping a growing consultancy in Fareham? This is a strong opportunity for a Principal Civil Engineer who enjoys leading design, mentoring engineers and influencing project delivery.

You will be joining a respected civil and structural engineering consultancy delivering residential and commercial development projects across the South Coast. This Principal Civil Engineer role offers hands-on involvement in highways, drainage and SuDS design, alongside responsibility for client relationships, team development and project performance.

The role

As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will lead civil engineering projects from concept through to delivery while supporting the growth of the team.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading the design and delivery of drainage, SuDS and highways schemes
* Managing S278 and S38 submissions and technical approvals
* Preparing technical reports and Flood Risk Assessments
* Managing project resources, budgets and programmes
* Acting as the main point of contact for clients, architects and local authorities
* Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their technical development
* Contributing to fee proposals and business development activity

About you

This role suits an experienced Principal Civil Engineer ready to lead.

You will ideally have:

* A degree or HND in Civil Engineering
* At least 5 years' UK consultancy experience
* Strong drainage and SuDS design expertise
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and drainage design software
* Experience managing projects and client relationships
* Strong communication and leadership skills
