Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead specialist neuropsychiatry care for patients with acquired brain injury across hospital sites

  • Act as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act for detained patients

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and contribute to enhancing our rehabilitation model

  • Provide expert psychiatric advice and participate in service improvement initiatives

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric treatment, leading weekly clinical meetings and case management

  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and external professionals to safeguard patient care

  • Participate in on-call rota to maintain continuous service delivery

  • Support and mentor junior psychiatry staff, ensuring compliance with Section 12 of the Mental Health Act ) Approval

About You
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification, full GMC registration with a licence to practise

  • MRCPsych qualified with Approved Clinician status and Section 12 approval

  • Strong clinical skills informed by a bio-psycho-social approach and sound medical knowledge

  • Proven experience in clinical audit, quality improvement, and collaborative leadership

  • In-depth understanding of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act responsibilities

  • Excellent decision-making ability, prioritising evidence-based practice and patient-centred care
