A specialist school in Telford is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team supporting children with Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD). This full-time role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusive education, additional needs support, and helping pupils achieve meaningful progress in a nurturing environment.
About the Role- Full-time hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
- Working with pupils who have severe learning disabilities, complex needs, and communication challenges
- Supporting teaching staff with classroom activities, learning plans, and behaviour support
- Providing one-to-one and small-group assistance
- Creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
What We’re Looking For- Experience working with children with SEND (SLD, PMLD, ASD, or complex needs) is highly desirable
- A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow EHCPs, behaviour plans, and differentiated learning activities
- A genuine passion for helping children thrive
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
