Development Engineering Technician
Location: Norwich
Salary: Market rate

We are working with an engineering business based in Norwich that is looking to recruit a Development Engineering Technician to support its growing Research & Development department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, hands-on technician to join a multi-disciplinary engineering team working on prototype systems, technology development and system capability improvements. You'll play a key role in supporting projects from initial design through to test and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build, assemble and maintain electrical, mechanical and electronic prototypes
• Assist with the design and development of prototype test equipment
• Conduct fault-finding and snagging activities to support engineering improvements
• Follow engineering drawings and specifications accurately
• Take ownership of delegated tasks and provide regular progress updates
• Work to strict timescales and support lab organisation and maintenance
• Contribute to documentation including specifications, reports and test data

Requirements:

• Qualified to HNC/Degree level or equivalent in Engineering or a relevant discipline
• Alternatively, a recognised apprenticeship with hands-on engineering experience
• Competence in mechanical fitting, wiring and cable assembly, PCB assembly and electrical fault finding
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Proactive approach to problem-solving
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Full UK driving licence and valid passport

Desirable:

• 18th Edition Electrical Installation qualification
• Forklift Truck licence
• CAD experience
  

You will be working 37.5 per week. Monday to Thursday 08:15-17:00, Friday 08:15-12:45.

In addition, you will receive 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays, company pension and on site parking.
