Financial Controller - £30K to £50K plus bens – Burgess Hill

We are working on behalf of a business situated in Burgess Hill on the Victoria Industrial Estate.

We are seeking a motivated and competent individual as the sole Financial Controller for 6 interlinked companies that specialise in property. Reporting directly to the two company directors and working closely with their friendly and sociable team

This is a hands on standalone role with your own office, individual air conditioning and plenty of space to make it your own working environment.

The duties are very varied, please see below.

Processing all sales and purchase invoices.
Reconciliation of credit card statements, ensuring each transaction is correctly allocated to each company.
Daily updating the cash forecast spreadsheet to ensure all purchases and sales are entered
Managing the cash flow as the times scales of many transactions can differ
Liaising with Sales and Purchasing division.
Producing quarterly financial reports
Providing at any given time financial details to directors.
Compiling draft accounts and full audit working papers.
Producing monthly management accounts and annual accounts for the external accountant to sign off
Providing information for auditors when required.
Managing all communications via email and phone.
VAT returns and company secretarial work for 6 active and 2 dormant.
Calculating sales commissions, time sheets and salaries to forward to an external payroll company.
Updating and managing sickness and annual leave for the business.

We are seeking an individual who can take ownership of all financial responsibilities for this company.

This is a full-time position, working hours are from 8.45am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

The current member of staff leaves just before Christmas so we are keen to have a new starter by December if possible to ensure a good handover.

Sage line 5O is used in daily as well as Excel and two bespoke CRM systems.

We would expect you to have at least 5 years’ experience working at a similar level.

Hands on experience of producing management accounts is essential.

Attention to detail is crucial, good communication skills and a solid work history
