Our client, a multidisciplinary property and design consultancy known for delivering high-quality, sustainable building solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Building Services team.

Based in Ipswich, you will play a key role in the design, delivery, and oversight of electrical systems across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects throughout East Anglia and surrounding areas, primarily within the Education sector.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take ownership of projects from concept to completion, including site visits, tendering, and final sign-off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of electrical systems for building services projects
  • Prepare and manage tender documentation
  • Conduct site inspections, oversee installation, and ensure compliance with design specifications
  • Sign off completed electrical works and ensure quality assurance
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, mechanical engineers, and project managers
  • Ensure all work complies with current regulations and sustainability standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a full-time electrical engineering role within building services
  • HNC or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary design team on both refurbishment and new build projects
  • Experience of managing multiple projects at any one time
  • Experience working on electrical design within the education sector
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and electrical standards
  • Ideally having experience in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, Relux, Amtech)
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential)
  • Live within a commutable distance from Ipswich
