Container Transport Planner - Day Shifts

Location: Grays, Essex
Salary: Up to £52,000 per year + Generous Bonus Scheme + Overtime
Shifts: Monday to Friday - Day Shifts
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

I currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Container Transport Planner to join a busy transport team in Grays. Working with a fleet of 50+ trucks and modern equipment, you'll play a key role in ensuring the efficient planning and execution of UK container movements.

What You'll Do

Plan and manage daily transport routes for a fleet of 50+ vehicles
Book port slots using VBS (Vehicle Booking System)
Utilise Transport Management Systems (TMS) for scheduling and tracking
Work with online shipping line portals for container instructions and restitution
Communicate with drivers, depots, ports, and customers
React to operational changes and resolve planning issues quickly
Ensure compliance with driver hours and WTD regulations

What You'll Need

Experience in container transport planning (essential)
Good knowledge of VBS systems and container restitution processes
Confident using online shipping line portals
Proficiency in TMS software
Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK
Strong communication and organisational skills
Able to work efficiently under pressure
