We're seeking a Building Control Surveyor (Registered Building Inspector) to deliver plan checking and site inspection services in line with building regulations across domestic and/or commercial projects.

Competitive rate: £60-£65 per hour, depending on experience

Initial contract duration: 12 months

Flexible working: full-time or part-time options available

Minimum requirement: RBI 2D (or expected qualification in the near future)

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Assessing building regulation applications for compliance, including full plans, building notices, and regularisation applications

Carrying out site inspections at key stages of construction to monitor compliance with approved plans and regulations

Liaising with clients, architects, builders, and other professionals to provide clear guidance and technical advice

Maintaining accurate and detailed records of site visits and communications in accordance with statutory requirements

Issuing decision notices including approvals, conditional approvals, or rejections with clear reasons

Identifying and resolving non-compliance issues, including the preparation and issuing of enforcement notices where necessary

Keeping up to date with changes in legislation, technical standards, and industry best practice

Representing the local authority or approved inspector service in meetings and public consultations when required
