CNC Turning Machinist - Aerospace Manufacturing

OverviewWild Recruitment is partnering with a leading aerospace manufacturer seeking experienced CNC Turning Machinists to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on precision components for cutting-edge aerospace projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes using Fanuc control systems.
• Interpret and work from complex aerospace engineering drawings and process specifications.
• Manufacture components to tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes.
• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometres, verniers, bore gauges).
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
• Accurately complete all production and quality documentation.
• Comply with Health & Safety and AS9100 quality standards.
• Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure compliance with design intent and customer requirements.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience operating CNC lathes in a precision engineering or aerospace environment.
• Ability to programme and edit directly at the machine.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with AS9100 standards (preferred).
• Skilled in using precision measuring equipment and maintaining accurate documentation.
• High attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
• Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering / CNC Machining (preferred).
