Senior Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (Mechanical bias) - Staff - Salary + Excellent Benefits - Manchester

Our client is seeking a mechanically bias Senior Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician. The purpose of the role is to facilitate and safely execute all aspects of plant maintenance at minimal cost, optimising the use of the departmental resources to achieve reliability targets whilst ensuring work is completed in a time frame to meet with plant production schedules. Capability to co-ordinate multiple tasks within a multi-discipline working environment is required.

Duties:

* Work with a minimum of supervision as a member of the site maintenance team to provide routine and emergency hands-on asset maintenance across the entire site.

* Ensure safe working practices and site safety rules and procedures are adhered to by self and others in the work team. Follows best practice craft and safety practice at all times.

* Set and work to schedules of preventive maintenance, corrective repairs and improvement activities within the requirements of the maintenance scheduling process.

* Work to a high standard of housekeeping and hygiene to ensure that the plant is maintained in a clean, tidy, safe, and healthy condition.

* Work as a multi-skilled* [1] Craftsperson primarily in the Jobholder's prime craft but able to carry out any of the duties of other Crafts as/when competence is proven.

* Help prepare Pre-Task Risk Assessments for future task events.

* Use SAP Maintenance system to manage notifications and work orders, record work and book hours, identify technical information, order engineering maintenance spares etc.

* Detect and repair faults in production machinery in all plant areas to eliminate or minimise production downtime. To order correct equipment and spares to ensure that this can be achieved.

* Contribute to reviews of plant performance and contribute ideas for performance improvements to maximise operational efficiency and minimise costs.

Qualifications & Experience:

* C&G, HNC or equivalent in craft skills relevant to Mechanical core craft.

* Chemicals, petrochemicals or COMAH experience (Hazardous chemicals, plant and equipment experience).

* The full range of complex mechanical plant maintenance tasks including: machinery removal, replacement, installation and overhaul, pipefitting, rigging & lifting, mechanical troubleshooting.

* Can perform non-complex tasks electrical / instrument tasks
