Estimator A respected and rapidly growing renewables business is seeking a self-sufficient Estimator to support its expanding pipeline of solar and energy efficiency projects across new build and social housing sectors. With a strong brand, diverse leadership team, and 30% year-on-year growth, the company is investing in long-term talent to strengthen delivery and client relationships.
Estimator Responsibilities: - Prepare detailed estimates and pricing for solar PV and energy efficiency projects, based on drawings and tender packs developed by the bid team.
- Split time between complex new build estimating (c. 3 days/week) and higher-volume social housing retrofit work (c. 2 days/week).
- Review technical drawings and specifications to develop accurate costings and material take-offs.
- Liaise with CAD designers and engineers to ensure alignment on project scope and design intent.
- Assist in invoice verification, procurement pricing, and subcontractor coordination.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, identifying opportunities for repeat work or expanded services.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet deadlines and ensure high-quality submissions.
Estimator Requirements: - Proven estimating experience in construction or renewable energy.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tender documents.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in pricing, invoicing, and documentation.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, able to manage workload independently while contributing to team success.
