About Us

Horizon House is a residential family assessment centre providing high-quality, court-directed parenting assessments in a safe, supportive environment. We are committed to excellent safeguarding standards, accurate reporting, and professional multi-agency collaboration.

The Role

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Payroll & Compliance Administrator to support Horizon House one day per week. This role is ideal for someone who is confident with admin systems and enjoys accuracy, structure, and operational support.

You will work closely with management to ensure smooth running of:

  • Staff rotas
  • Payroll administration
  • HR compliance
  • Documentation and record-keeping
Key Responsibilities

Payroll & Rota Support

  • Assist with weekly staff rotas and shift adjustments
  • Support payroll processing using our current payroll system
  • Ensure hours, leave, sickness and overtime are accurately logged
  • Liaise with management to resolve discrepancies

BrightHR Administration

  • Enter new candidates correctly into BrightHR
  • Set up new employees, roles, and onboarding documentation
  • Upload and manage compliance documents (IDs, training, policies)
  • Maintain accuracy of staff files and reminders for expiry items (DBS renewals, training, etc.)

Compliance & Documentation

  • Check and record staff driving licences, right-to-work documents, and mandatory training
  • Maintain well-structured staff compliance records
  • Ensure Horizon House meets all regulatory and internal standards
  • General administrative support as needed
  • Pool Car Compliance
About You

You will be a reliable, organised and proactive person with strong attention to detail. You must be confident handling confidential information and able to work independently for long periods.

Essential:

  • Strong administrative skills
  • Experience with HR or payroll systems (BrightHR experience ideal but not essential)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work independently
  • Good communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in social care, HR admin, or compliance
  • Understanding of rota systems
  • Familiarity with DBS and safeguarding requirements
Hours & Pay
  • 1 day per week (approx. 7–8 hours)
  • Flexible working day (Monday–Friday)
  • Competitive hourly rate depending on experience
