Mechanical Fitter

We are currently recruiting an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our engineering team based in Barton-under-Needwood. This is an opportunity to work on complex, heavy mechanical systems.

The Role:

As a Fitter, you will be responsible for the stripping, rebuilding, and overhaul of heavy mechanical assemblies used within the rail industry. The role requires a hands-on, methodical approach with a strong focus on quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strip down, inspect, and survey mechanical units
• Rebuild and assemble components to engineering specifications
• Working on transmission and gear boxes
• Overhaul and test mechanical systems including:
• • Fluid couplings
  • Rail transmissions
  • Torque-limiting couplings
• Identify wear, faults, and required repairs
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to health & safety procedures

Working Hours:

• 40 hours per week
