Ocean Export Operator

Location: Bradford, United Kingdom

Salary: £30,000 - £37,000 + benefits + progression

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an Ocean Export Operator to join a busy and fast-paced freight forwarding team based in Bradford. This position will involve managing export shipments from start to finish, working closely with overseas offices, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

You will be responsible for handling both LCL and FCL shipments, ensuring all documentation is accurate and timelines are met. This is a great opportunity for someone with existing ocean export experience looking to develop their career within a supportive and well-structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and process bookings from overseas offices
• Manage export files within the internal system
• Prepare shipping instructions and export documentation
• Liaise with shipping lines and carriers
• Monitor vessel departures and schedules
• Ensure all documentation is compliant and complete
• Handle file costing and raise invoices
• Resolve any shipment or file-related queries

About You

• Previous experience in Ocean Export operations is essential
• Strong understanding of freight forwarding processes
• Knowledge of customs procedures (including Duty/VAT on imports is advantageous)
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to use initiative
