Commissioning Engineer - Industrial Automation

Location: Sheffield
Salary: £37,000 - £40,000+ base plus overtime, working away and allowances
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We're working with a leading UK specialist in industrial automation to find a Commissioning Engineer who thrives in technical environments and is ready to take on diverse, real-world engineering challenges.

The Role

As Commissioning Engineer, you will:

* Support the design, build, testing, and commissioning of robotic and automated systems.

* Build and test electromechanical systems and subsystems to high standards.

* Diagnose and resolve complex faults across electrical and mechanical systems.

* Collaborate with software, workshop, and service teams to deliver seamless project outcomes.

* Travel to customer sites (UK-wide) for installation and support of automation systems.

* Work to safety standards and document all processes clearly and accurately.

* Liaise with stakeholders and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

Candidate Requirements

We're looking for someone who is:

* Qualified to HNC level in an electrical field, or equivalent through apprenticeship or experience.

* Able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.

* Skilled in diagnosing electrical faults using industry-standard tools and practices.

* A confident communicator in both written and verbal English.

* Adaptable, with a keen interest in learning new technologies quickly.

* A full UK driving licence holder.

* Willing to travel to client sites as required.

* Eligible for UK security clearance up to Developed Vetting (British Citizens only).
