Prospero Teaching is seeking patient, nurturing, and engaging Tutors to support young learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Botley and nearby areas. These students are currently disengaged from mainstream education and require tailored support to reengage with learning and develop socially and emotionally.

  • ? Hours: 8-15 hours per week per student

  • �? Students: KS2-KS4, often with EHCPs or SEMH needs

As an SEN Tutor, you will work 1:1 with learners to:

  • Support core subject catch-up (English, Maths, Science)
  • Encourage social development and emotional regulation
  • Build positive relationships that foster trust and motivation

About you:

  • Experienced in working within UK schools and with learners with SEN
  • Passionate about inclusive education and personalised learning
  • Skilled in behaviour management and trauma-informed approaches
  • Reliable, empathetic, and committed to long-term impact
  • Background as a Tutor, Mentor, Teaching Assistant, 1:1 Support, Cover Supervisor, Teacher, HLTA or other related career

  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
