Senior Design Engineer | Cambridgeshire

This position is ideal for a Design Engineer with experience in process-related industries (hydrogen, oil & gas, or Chemicals) who is looking for technical autonomy, innovation freedom, and the chance to grow into a specialist or leadership role as the company expands.

Key responsibilities

* Develop innovative design solutions using 3D CAD (SolidWorks) to support R&D and customer projects.

* Create detailed fabrication and assembly drawings, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

* Work closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to deliver robust and efficient solutions.

* Support prototyping, testing, and the development of Bills of Materials (BOM).

* Ensure all designs meet DSEAR, ATEX, and international regulatory requirements where applicable.

* Contribute to continuous improvement, cost reduction, and optimisation initiatives.

What We're Looking For

* Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline

* Proficient in SolidWorks (3D modelling, assemblies, and drafting).

* Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

* Experience designing equipment operating at high pressures and temperatures.

* A proactive self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
