Engineering Assessor / Learning & Development Coach

Location: Havant (with remote working options between site visits)

Due to continued business growth, we are expanding our team of Engineering Assessors (Learning & Development Coaches) within our specialist Engineering division, based at our Havant training centre. In this role, you will support apprentices in the workplace, with flexibility to work remotely between site visits.

The Engineering Team

This is an opportunity to join a team that works in partnership with leading engineering companies across the South Coast to develop the next generation of engineering professionals. The apprenticeship programmes delivered have launched thousands of successful careers.

You'll report to an experienced Team Lead, be supported by a knowledgeable Training Manager, and work alongside a dedicated team of instructors and administrators. The environment is collaborative, supportive, and learner-focused.

Key Responsibilities

As an Engineering Assessor / Learning & Development Coach, you will:

Support a cohort of apprentices working towards industry-recognised standards.

Clearly explain apprenticeship structures and requirements to both learners and employers.

Develop realistic, achievable learning plans in partnership with learners and employers, integrating on-the-job and off-the-job training.

Monitor learner progress, applying timely corrective strategies where necessary to maintain achievement targets.

Maintain high standards of quality, compliance, and professionalism in line with government and regulatory frameworks.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Hands-on experience within an engineering environment.

A recognised assessing and/or teaching qualification.

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with learners aged 16 and above.

Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage your workload independently.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Accurate report writing and record-keeping abilities.

A commitment to working within a compliance-driven, government-funded training environment.
