Crown Oil is hiring a Financial Controller to join a newly established entity within our successful, privately owned group. With deep roots in the North West, this is a rare opportunity to shape the financial direction of a new business venture and work closely with the Director and family advisor to support long-term investment strategy.

This hands-on, commercially focused role is perfect for a senior finance professional with SME or owner-managed business experience, ready to step into a key strategic role with genuine progression potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead financial control including management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow

• Produce clear and insightful financial reporting and analysis

• Business partner with senior stakeholders to inform decision-making and long-term planning

• Support investment strategy with modelling and scenario analysis

• Ensure compliance with all statutory and financial obligations

• Manage and mentor a small finance team, embedding best practice

Candidate Profile:

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Management Accountant

• Experience in SMEs or owner-managed businesses is highly desirable

• Technically strong with Sage, SAP, or similar systems, and confident in Excel

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or Qualified by Experience (QBE)

• Exposure to family businesses, personal tax, or trusts is a bonus

• Confident communicator and strategic thinker, with strong commercial acumen
