Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home

Location: Stoke-on-Trent, ST5 OR Crewe, CW2

Salary: £33,500 per year + £50 per sleep-in

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Shift Pattern: 2 days on, sleep-in between shifts, followed by 4 days off

We are recruiting for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a small, Ofsted-approved children’s home. The home supports young people within a 3–4 bed residential setting, providing a stable, supportive, and nurturing environment where they can feel safe and develop positive life skills.

This role is ideal for an experienced Residential Support Worker who is ready to step into a senior role with additional responsibility, supporting both the young people and the staff team on shift.

Requirements

• Must be a car driver with access to a vehicle
• Must hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Residential Childcare
• Previous experience working within a children’s residential home
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management
• Ability to lead shifts and support junior staff members

Responsibilities

• Supporting young people with their daily routines, education, and independence skills
• Leading shifts and ensuring the home operates smoothly
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Contributing to care plans, risk assessments, and daily reports
• Ensuring the home meets Ofsted regulations and safeguarding standards
• Working closely with external professionals, families, and social workers
