The Role

This is a high-impact, full-time Geography Teacher position starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This role is not just about teaching from a textbook; it is about bringing the world to life, facilitating fieldwork, and ensuring every student-regardless of their starting point-makes outstanding progress.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver well-structured, challenging Geography lessons to all ability levels.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development and progress of students consistently.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources.
  • Organise and lead geographical fieldwork to enhance student's practical understanding.
  • Prepare students for national examinations (GCSE) with targeted revision and support.
  • Act as a Form Tutor, supporting the pastoral and personal development of a student group.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student achievement and well-being.
  • Participate in departmental and whole-school meetings to drive school improvement.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and the school's performance management cycle.
