Warehouse Supervisor

Salary: £25000 / annually

Our presigious client in the S40 area are recruiting for a warehouse supervisor.

Key function:

To lead and organise a small warehouse function, primarily dealing with incoming and outbound shipments in the UK and international.

To co-ordinate health and safety for the offices, production and warehouse.

Key responsibilities and tasks

·   Supervising and developing the warehouse team with a hands on approach and leading by example.

·   Overseeing picking, packing and despatch and ensuring that daily orders are completed within the company guidelines.

·   Supervise, plan and co-ordinate the incoming goods, storage and despatch of items in a timely and efficient manner.

·   Leading the preparation, collation and despatch of large international shipments.

·   Assessment of damaged or returned goods and processing to resolution.

·   Ensuring effective, safe, accurate and timely stock management to include space allocation, stock transfer and dealing with bespoke products.

·   Organising and ensuring accurate and periodic stock takes and cycle counts.

·   Ensuring the quality of the product and service within the warehouse is maintained to the highest possible standards.

·   Ensuring quality procedures and quality targets are strictly adhered to.

·   Processing all documentation through complex stock and warehouse management computerised systems.

·   Liaising with account managers at various transport and logistics companies to ensure competitiveness of contracts.

·   Ensuring warehouse team follow processes and are compliant with company policies and procedures.

·   Identifying areas for improvement and presenting those ideas to the Operations Manager and then implementing in a timely manner.

·   Any other adhoc duties that may be required to meet business needs.

Key responsibilities and tasks (Health & Safety Co-ordinator)

·     Support the Directors with general health and safety duties.

·     Ensuring risk assessments are carried out appropriately and in a timely manner.

·     Arranging regular training sessions and tool box talks in liaison with the external health and safety advisor.

·     Carrying out health and safety checks and ensuring all legal regulations and company policies are being adhered to. 

·     Maintaining accurate and up to date health and safety records.

·     Any other adhoc duties that may be required to meet business needs.

Skills / Competencies

·     Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels

·     Previous supervisory experience - three years minimum

·     FLT licence and manual handling qualification/experience 

·     Experience in business improvement techniques

·     Ability to work with multiple competing priorities

·     A strong knowledge of health and safety practices and holds a minimum of IOSH Managing Safely certificate
