Vacancy Location Stafford, ST17 Main Duties and Responsibilities Business / Functional Skills Trainer to join a dynamic Work-Based Learning Team and co-ordinate Business Studies across 3 Academies. The purpose of this job role is to deliver an innovative Business Enterprise Project to Hairdressing Apprentices and relate Maths, English and ICT to it and monitor, track and report on Apprentices progress in Functional Skills and prepare Apprentices for examinations. “The main duties will be getting learners through their functional skills qualifications across our 3 sites however we have wrapped the maths, English and ICT standards inside a business plan to stretch their learning and make maths English and ICT more applicable to their vocation. We also offer the Business Enterprise as an additional course which is something this candidate would monitor and develop” * The candidate must have an engaging personality to fit with our lively and inspiring culture * The sessions will need to be taught in an innovative way * Candidates will be based equally between Stafford and Birmingham with the occasional visit to the Academy (based in Somerset) for support and standardisation meetings * The candidate will require the knowledge to co-ordinate the Business Enterprise strategy across all academies to ensure standardised practices * The candidates will be ultimately responsible for getting learners to pass their functional skills exams first time * Candidates will be required to use a comprehensive tracking system that measures distance travelled for all learners * Candidate must have the ability to perform baseline tests with learners and analyse their starting points and levels of learning * Candidates should be confident in all procedures and can present their best practice to OFSTED inspectors as and when required * Must drive and have own transport (mileage will be paid at normal rates) Required Skills and Experience The successful candidate must: * Hold BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business or Higher * Hold a teaching qualification (PGCE / DTTLS / PTTLS or equivalent) * Be enthusiastic and self-motivated * Be well organised and communicate effectively at all levels * Be a team player * A knowledge of Virtual Learning Environments would be useful Salary and Hours Full Time – 35 Hours per week Excellent Salary - negotiable depending on level of experience £25,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience) This is a Full-Time position and you will need to have a flexible approach to working hours.
