Are you an experienced Design Manager with a passion for delivering innovative, fast-track retail environments?

I'm recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing retail construction contractor based in Bristol, renowned for its technical capability, client-focused approach, and consistent delivery of nationwide projects for blue-chip retail clients.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business at the forefront of retail and commercial construction, managing design development on projects up to £10 million in value.

🔧 The Role

As Design Manager, you'll be responsible for leading and coordinating the design process across multiple projects - from initial concept through to construction handover.

You'll ensure that client aspirations, technical requirements, and buildability considerations are all aligned to achieve outstanding project outcomes.

Working closely with project teams, consultants, and clients, you'll play a key role in delivering design-led, efficient, and high-quality retail spaces nationwide.

✅ Ideal Candidate Profile

* Proven experience as a Design Manager within retail, fit out, or main contracting

* Strong understanding of design coordination, buildability, and compliance

* Ability to manage multiple live projects with tight deadlines and fast-track programmes

* Confident liaising with clients, consultants, and internal delivery teams

* Based in or commutable to Bristol, with flexibility for nationwide travel as required
