HGV Technician

Whitehaven area

Days - 37 - 8am-4pm

Questech Automotive Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of their client for an experienced HGV Technician.

This is a days role and can be PAYE, UMBRELLA OR LTD.

We are looking for Technicians/mechanics from a Commercial, HGV, PSV or LGV background.

You will be an apprentice trained, fully qualified Technician that has experience working with a variety of LGV or HGV vehicles

ROLE

* Conduct routine inspections and comprehensive diagnostics on HGVs to identify faults and issues.

* Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical components.

* Utilise fabrication, welding, soldering, and schematics to carry out specialised repairs or modifications.

* Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as excavators and forklifts to facilitate repairs and maintenance tasks.

* Interpret technical drawings and schematics to accurately diagnose problems and implement effective solutions.

* Maintain detailed records of work carried out, parts used, and repairs performed in compliance with company standards.

* Ensure all work adheres to health & safety regulations and industry standards.

* Assist with vehicle assembly or modifications as required, ensuring quality control throughout the process.

* Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and vehicle condition.

* Undertake heavy lifting tasks safely as part of routine maintenance activities.

Skills & Experience

* Level 3 in Heavy Goods Vehicle maintenance & repair or an equivalent qualification

* Strong customer service skills

* Good attention to detail

* Ability to work autonomously

* Ability to work within given time frames

* Ability to tackle all aspects of vehicle repair and servicing.

* Diagnostics skills
