Time Appointments are proud to be working on behalf of a reputable and well-established wholesaler based in Harwich, who are currently seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Head of Supply Chain to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to take ownership of the full supply chain function, driving efficiency and ensuring the seamless flow of goods from supplier to customer.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead demand and supply planning, forecasting, and alignment with business goals.
  • Drive efficient business planning and data-driven decisions to enhance operational performance
  • Optimise the end-to-end supply chain to improve inventory management, lead times, and on-time delivery
  • Manage and build strong relationships with 3PL providers
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to plan for upcoming promotions and events
  • Conduct capacity planning in partnership with internal stakeholders
  • Deliver regular reporting and business analysis to inform strategic decisions
  • Proactively identify and address potential supply chain risks or disruptions
  • Oversee inbound material scheduling in line with inventory targets and business needs
  • Lead the implementation of supply chain infrastructure and process improvement initiatives
  • Manage and develop a team of 7 FTE, including future recruitment, training, and performance reviews
  • Monitor supply chain KPIs to ensure targets are consistently met
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align logistics with sourcing and demand forecasting
  • Ensure departmental KPIs and company objectives are met

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in supply chain or logistics management
  • Deep understanding of supply chain operations and business processes
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organised
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple 3PL providers
  • ERP system experience essential; SAP highly desirable
  • Commercially minded with a strong customer focus
  • Inclusive leadership style with the ability to drive team performance
  • Capable of thriving in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment
