Ensures an environment that complies with Federal, State, and Local regulations, as well as corporate guidelines. Develops, implements and maintains procedures, audit and inspection records, programs & activities for environmental compliance in multi-state facilities. Minimize environmental risks and assure a quality work environment for employees and the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and implements programs and policies for monitoring and preventing environmental non-compliance issues at assigned facilities.
Directs investigation of environmental concerns through completion and implementation of corrective (environmental) action plans.
Surveys, compiles and analyzes data relating to environmental issues. Prioritizes situations most critical and drives correcting/improving areas of concern within the facilities.
Supports development, design and implementation of environmental training for all employees in the facilities for which he/she has responsibility.
Responsible for maintaining master records and submitting environmental reports to governmental agencies, and ensuring accuracy and compliance for inspections and audits.
Establishes effective working relationships with the management staff in order to become a recognized resource for the management team in each facility.
Ensures that the Company’s environmental principles, policies, and programs are consistently practiced.
Maintains working knowledge of new developments in the industry, government regulations and benchmarks data with environmental issues.
Determines needed environmental testing and conducts or contracts outside services to conduct. Analyzes results and participates on decision-making team relative to appropriate action.

Experience with environmental auditing.
Practical experience with waste water pre-treatment a plus.
Experience with ISO 14001 a plus.
Familiar with DOT & IATA.
Experience with SARA reporting.
Proven knowledge of EPA and other environmental regulations and general understanding of environmental control technology and production processes as related to Air, Water, Stormwater and Waste Management. Knowledge of PC operations including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management.
Strong database management skills or desire to learn such skills.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Engineering related discipline; 3 to 5 years of environmental experience required.
