Electrician
Location: Lincoln
Salary: Up to £29,000 + 15% weekend shift allowance (rota-based)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 39 hours per week (including occasional weekends)

Overview
We're currently recruiting for an experienced Electrician to join the facilities maintenance team at a secure HMP site. This is a permanent, on-site role with a competitive salary and additional weekend allowance.
The role involves carrying out a mix of planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring electrical systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational in a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance

* Diagnose and replace failed domestic electrical components

* Respond promptly to electrical faults and breakdowns

* Conduct fault-finding and problem-solving across systems

* Carry out electrical installations to current wiring regulations

* Inspect and test electrical installations (BS7671 standards)

* Monitor and order critical electrical spares and stock

* Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times

* Support carbon reduction and sustainability initiatives on-site

What You'll Need
Essential:

* Recognised technical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2365 Parts 1-3, NVQ Level 3)

* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (or 17th Edition with willingness to upgrade - support may be provided)

* Proven experience in electrical maintenance, testing, and fault-finding

* Strong understanding of Electricity at Work Regulations

* Ability to work at height and in a secure setting

* Comfortable working independently and using initiative

Desirable:

* IT literacy

* Experience with fire alarm and/or CCTV systems

Please note: this position is within a secure facility and will require successful completion of security clearance procedures.
