We're in search of an enthusiastic and dedicated Fostering Operations Manager to join an experienced and accomplished team. This team is responsible for guiding a group of reflective and innovative Supervising Social Workers. Your role will encompass collaborative work with all stakeholders, all geared towards ensuring that the children and young people under their care are empowered to reach their fullest potential.
The role is mainly based at the Bolton office, however, you will need to be prepared for regional travel to support your team, as well as occasional national travel to visit other offices. Therefore, a car and a valid driving license are essential for this role.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the Fostering Service's overarching strategic plan.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Fostering to deliver operational excellence, drive continuous improvement, and enhance the financial performance of the business while prioritising the safety and well-being of children and young people.
  • Taking the lead in motivating and guiding a team of social care practitioners to provide exceptional care and secure the best possible outcomes for our young wards while adhering to child protection and safeguarding principles.
  • Ensuring that your team's practice aligns with In-house Policy, and legal and regulatory standards, and is consistently of high quality, evidence-based, well-documented, and quality assured.
  • Meeting regional targets and key performance indicators for placement growth, carer recruitment, and retention, all while guaranteeing that the needs of children, young people, and carers are met during placements.
  • Exhibiting a positive and dynamic leadership and management style, providing daily operational support to your team of Supervising Social Workers to foster a highly skilled, well-trained, and motivated team.
  • Safeguarding the children and young people under their care, including supporting the Registered Manager in monitoring Schedule 6/7 matters and, when required, liaising with Ofsted on these matters.
  • Demonstrating exceptional communication and engagement skills in developing, managing, and strengthening customer relationships with key Local Authority customers.
  • Possessing a relevant professional qualification in social work and being registered with Social Care England (or an equivalent authority).
