A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior QC to join our technical team in Barway, Cambridgeshire.

We are looking for a Senior QC who is an enthusiastic and energetic individual who will assist with the management of quality, quality assurance and production due diligence requirements for all products packed at Barway site and related operations by or on behalf of GGL.

Work closely with Technical, Compliance and Production Teams to ensure compliance with product safety and legal requirements together with customer quality specifications as well as improving standards such as food safety, fabrication, GMP and audit improvements.

Alongside supporting the QC Manager in leading and managing the QC Team in all aspects of their role and ensure they have the required training, development, and recruitment to deliver the requirements of the Teams role.

Key responsibilities for our Senior QC:

  • To ensure the daily, weekly, and monthly QC tasks are completed according to the schedule.
  • Assess product quality, packaging, and labelling on intake, during packing and prior to dispatch.
  • Conduct traceability exercises whenever required in a timely manner.
  • Provide feedback to our Growers and production management across all operations.
  • Support Production/Harvest Lead Workers in their roles and provide quality guidance for the Operations Teams.
  • Ensure that all finished goods meet quality standards as laid down in customer specifications and product standards.

The ideal candidate:

  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills
  • Proficient use of IT (Microsoft Excel, Word)
  • Team Player
  • Food Safety L2
  • Some experience of the fresh produce /food sector desirable
  • HACCP trained.

40 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days, different shifts (some flexibility with additional days/night shift will be required due to business needs).
